4th Annual Creating Change Campaign

Autism Awareness

"The greatest legacy an individual can pass on to one’s children and grandchildren is not money or other material things accumulated in life, but rather a legacy of character and faith."

-Billy Graham

Approaching my thirtieth birthday, I realized I wanted to celebrate with a significant cause that would create a legacy instead of celebrating without a cause. I selected to campaign towards the research development of those affected by Autism. The Jackson Autism Center works to improve the quality of life for children affected by Autism in Mississippi.

On Saturday, March 24, 2018, I hosted a Black Tie Gala with a Silent Auction to join the movement toward a world free of Autism Spectrum Disorder. My celebration was an illustration of continuous movement in the third decade of my life, but more importantly a surge of efforts towards the awareness and research development of those affected by Autism.

The night began with photo opportunities along the red carpet with FulloFlava Photography that lead to the silent auction. The auction displayed phenomenal pieces of artwork by Jackson, Mississippi’s own, Christopher Windfield. Immediately following, cocktail hour with DJ Java preceded a delectable meal and the fundraiser program. The event was hosted by Mr. Terryal Thomas. I along with Dr. Rebecca Mullican, representative from Jackson Autism Center, and Ms. Brittany Stamps addressed Autism Spectrum Disease awareness and the importance of fundraising for those affected.

Many came out to support the 4th Annual Creating Change Campaign. I would like to thank our sponsors CATHEAD Vodka and Distillery, JAMAA Inc., Kency Medical Services PLLC, as well as all individuals and other organizations involved in assisting with the Gala. Also, I would like to thank artist Christopher Windfield and the purchasers of each piece of art for their contributions. Last, I would like to give a special thanks to every person who attended the Gala. I am still overwhelmed with the success of the event. Thank you for joining me in efforts to support this great movement within the Autism community. It gives me great pleasure to continue my mission and legacy of giving back annually through the Creating Change Campaign. I look forward to seeing all my supporters and more at the 5th Annual event as we campaign on creating awareness for the behalf of those affected by Diabetes. Look for more great things to come in the future.
