3rd Annual Creating Change Campaign

Lupus Awareness

I selected to campaign towards the research development of those affected by Lupus. On Saturday, March 11, 2017, I hosted a Black Tie Gala with a Silent Auction to join the movement toward a world free of Lupus.  My celebration was an illustration of continuous movement in the third decade of my life, but more importantly a surge of efforts towards the awareness and research development of those affected by Lupus.  The night began with photo opportunities along the red carpet with D’Angelique Photography that led to the silent auction. The auction displayed phenomenal pieces of artwork by Jackson, Mississippi’s own, Christopher Windfield, Larry Walker, & Kira Cumming as well as donations from the luxurious King Edward Hotel. Immediately following cocktail hour with DJ Java preceded a delectable meal and the fundraiser program. The event was hosted by Terryal Thomas.  I along with Mrs, Tawaii Black, author, and Ms. Luciana Taylor addressed Lupus awareness and the importance of fundraising for those affected.  Many came out to support the 3rd Annual Creating Change Campaign. I would like to thank our sponsor CATHEAD Vodka and Distillery, as well as all individuals and other organizations involved in assisting with the Gala.  I would like to thank JAMAA Inc., DJ Java, Terryal Thomas, D’Angelique Photography, Table 100, and DJ PM for your services and support. Also, I would like to thank artists, Christopher Windfield, Larry Walker and Kira Cummings as well as the purchasers of each piece of art for their contributions. Last, I would like to give a special thanks to every person who attended the Gala. I am still overwhelmed with the success of the event. Thank you for joining me in efforts to support this great movement within the Lupus community. It gives me great pleasure to continue my mission and legacy of giving back annually through the Creating Change Campaign. I look forward to seeing all my supporters and more at the 4th Annual event as we continue to campaign on creating awareness on the behalf of others.  Look for more great things to come in the future.
